To create a monument honoring those who have served or are currently serving in the U.S. Military, as well as providing education to enhance and increase the public's knowledge of the unsung "Heroes of America".
You can show your support and/or honor your loved one by making a tax deductible tile purchase in one of three sizes, inscribed with your message of support. Click on the "Buy a Tile" tab above and support this Patriotic Project.
For those who do not wish to purchase a tile but would like to show support, donations are appreciated. See the "Donate" tab above.
The Upland Veterans Monument encourages you to consider volunteering some of your time into the maintenance and up-keeping of our world-class monument. The monument site is cleaned every Monday and Thursday morning.
The Upland Veterans Monument Committee is also open to new members who wish to partake in their community and contribute to all that we do at the monument.
For those who would like to get in contact with us about volunteering or joining our committee, please contact Amy Budds at (818) 835-6213 or bdzfam@yahoo.com.
WHAT IS THE TILE PURCHASING PROGRAM?

WHO CAN PURCHASE A TILE?
The tile purchasing program is open to Upland residents and residents of nearby communities. It is not uncommon for families from cities such as Pomona, Ontario or Fontana to make a tile purchase. HOW CAN I MAKE A TILE PURCHASE?
For more information on how to purchase a tile, please visit the "Buy a Tile" page on our website by clicking the designated tab above. For questions or more information, please contact Amy Budds at (818)-835-6213 or bdzfam@yahoo.com.
Ralph Cavallo is one of the most prominent figures in Upland. He and his wife have resided in Upland since 1971. He was named Upland’s Community Volunteer of the Year in 2018. Ralph was involved with the Upland National Little League for 35 years, 15 of which he spent as the league’s president. In recent years he oversaw the renovation project of the softball field at Greenbelt Park. He is also responsible for the addition of a new children’s reading room at the Upland Public Library, as well as the Friends of the Library bookstore.
Perhaps what Ralph is best known for is the Upland Veterans Monument located in the city’s civic center. He and a team of people he put together were able to ambitiously plan the project, raise the funds and complete the monument in just 11 months. No city funds were used. Today, the monument stands as a site of remembrance for those who have served, a place of honor for those serving and a symbol of hope for those to serve. Ralph has also overlooked the restoration of the Vietnam Memorial at Upland High school and played a key role in the development of the Upland Fallen Heroes monument at the Upland police station.
Outside of what he has done for Upland, Ralph worked for Southern California Edison for 35 years. He started out as a ground man before moving up the ladder from journeyman lineman to manager of the claims department. He retired from the company in 2000. Along the way, he earned his Bachelor of Science and Juris Doctor’s degrees.
Most impressively, Ralph is a six-time cancer survivor. Today, he and his wife continue to reside happily in the city of Upland as he serves as the project manager for the Upland Veterans Monument Project.
Joining Ralph Cavallo on the Upland Veterans Monument Committee is Yolanda Tuosto, Grace Schmidt, Shirley Peterson, Jim Thomas, Emily Armstrong, Anthony Lopez, Amy Budds,
Ben Larson, Dave Proctor, Sid Robinson, Valerie Guzman-Garcia, and Candice Tuosto.
